Patent iMagic Software

Granted US Patent 7,206,938
for biometrically authenticating and protecting digital identities via typing rhythms, allowing ordinary passwords to work like fingerprints

– a better paradigm for preventing fraud and identity theft

Solvang, CA - April 17, 2007:   iMagic Software, the creators of Trustable Passwords™ -- which turns ordinary passwords into strong biometric passwords that, like individual fingerprints, cannot be lost or shared -- today announced the United States Patent Office has granted all 42 of the company’s claims and issued US Patent #7,206,938.  This patent protects the company’s breakthrough method of recognizing and authenticating people by their unique typing patterns.

“We filed this application back in 2002 and it has been a long, but worthwhile, process” said Steven L. Bender, chief executive officer.  “In granting all of our claims, the Patent Office has validated our work and our seminal role in the keystroke dynamics and dynamic biometrics fields.  This is a very important milestone for iMagic Software, and we thank the Patent Officers for their recognition.  Beyond the technology covered in this patent, iMagic Software has other claims pending covering additional work and discoveries over the last 5 years.  These, along with a large body of proprietary work, form our current state-of-art Hyperstring Harmonics technology (www.iMagicsoftware.com/Technology.htm), the basis for Trustable Passwords, iMagic’s Enterprise Authentication and Identity Assurance product suite, and our other “Trustable” products.”

Trustable Passwords is in production use by major distributed enterprises to protect privacy, comply with HIPAA and Sarbanes-Oxley, and assure that only authorized users can access protected systems.  Trustable Passwords works using standard keyboards, workstation and laptop, and over locally attached or remote networks.  Trustable Passwords provides protection from fraudulent access while also increasing user convenience.  With Trustable Passwords there are no new processes – users simply enter their password just as they normally do – no user training, and no new hardware to buy or maintain.

Trustable Passwords is a breakthrough -- a new, better paradigm for our new always-on, distributed and connected world.
